The 2014 Equality Gala is your home for scrumptious Southern eats.

From the first reception tray to the last of our dinner's sweet desserts, every bite of your November 22nd nosh will be pure North Carolina. Get to the Gala early to sample the taste sensations of a true Carolina culinary experience, including Pimento Cheese Hushpuppies with a Texas Pete Aioli Dipping Sauce, Shrimp "Popcorn" with Remoulade Sauce, Spinach Stuffed Mushrooms (VEGAN), Guilford Mills Grit Cake Square, topped with Oil Cured Tomato, Toasted Walnut and Rosemary Relish or topped with Beef Tenderloin and Shaved Parmesan, Loaf Baguette Rounds topped with Goat Lady Chevre, Deviled Egg topped with Fried Cornichon, Griddled Hopkins Poultry Chicken Thigh Bite with NC Style Orange Molasses BBQ Glaze on Knotted Bamboo Skewer...and did we mention those are just the opening appetizers?
Oh, the Reception.
Your registration not only guarantees a place at the table for the state's premier Equality Gala program, but also a show-stopping pre-Gala party, including a mix-n-mingle in the Empire Room's downstairs lounge where you'll be welcomed with great tastes of the Tar Heel State, a delightful menu of locally-owned and grown complimentary drink options, and the sweet Southern sounds of songstress Jessica Mashburn.
Supper is Served.
Dinner will be hearty and delicious including French Chicken Breast Stuffed with Goat Cheese and Mushroom Duxelle (Porcini and Portabella) atop Wheatberries and Roasted Mountain Apples with a Reduced Chicken Stock Sauce with Fresh Sage, plated with Roasted Rainbow Carrots with Sorghum and Cider and garnished with Fried Sage Leaves.
Our vegetarian/vegan/gluten free option is Stuffed Roasted Sweet Potato (Block Cut, Rectangular) with Mushroom Duxelle on a bed of Curried San Marzano Tomato Sauce, plated with Roasted Rainbow Carrots with Sorghum and Cider.
For dessert we will serve Bananas Foster Bread Pudding Round Topped with Dulce de Leche Rum Sauce sitting on a pool of Creme Anglaise Sauce.
